Interested in local history? Did you know the Ridge has had people here for 12,000 years? That it once housed a school? Blacksmith shops? A stagecoach inn? The Monkton Museum and Historical Society (MM&HS) is creating self-guided tours of the different regions of Monkton. Using maps with before and after pictures, these history tours plan to narrate points of historical significance.
Monkton Ridge
The tour of Monkton Ridge is designed to help you make connections between our past and present. Knowing that a building was built in 1810 may be interesting, but what makes it fascinating are the stories of the people who lived at each location. We encourage you to add your own insights to this tour and will provide information about ways to share your knowledge at the end of the booklet. Buy the tour booklet for $10 or download it for free.
