I was sorry to miss this event. Are there still East Monkton History books available to purchase?
Yes, Sarah, thanks for your patience. Sharon Gomez, Monkton Town Clerk, will sell them during her regular business hours for $12. I’m also happy to mail one to you ($8 postage and handling).
I am the Great, Great, Grand Nephew of Augustus T. Cox who fought and died in the battle of Cedar Creek. Had I known there was going to be a historical publication, I could have provided you all with the pictures I have of Robert and Rosetta Cox and all of his descendants who lived on the East Monkton farm up until the 1960s.
Also, I just sent you all an email to the publications link inviting you all to pick up where I left off with the Augustus T. Cox transcription. It would be an honor if your organization finished it up to generate revenue to keep your historical society funded.
My career has me very active and I don’t get much time to work on the family history. This past week I was reminded of the 159th anniversary of the Battle of Cedar Creek and started uploading photos again to the “Findagrave” website.
There I noticed John Burbank had made several posts and he sent me your links to these publications.
Feel free to contact me where, at which time, I will post the links to the photographs of the Cox and Cousino ancestry at the East Monkton Farm.
